Bishops of Bishops conference of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bishops conference of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BK BiH) (lat. Conferentia Episcoporum Bosniae et Hercegovinae) is made of six arch/bishops (on the picture from left to right): msgr. dr. Marko Semren, auxiliary bishop of Banja Luka diocese; msgr. dr. Ratko Perić, bishop of Mostar-Duvno diocese and apostolic administrator of diocese Trebinje-Mrkan; cardinal Vinko Puljić, archbishop metropolit of Vrhbosna archdiocese; msgr. dr. Franjo Komarica, bishop of Banja Luka diocese; msgr. dr. Tomo Vukšić, bishop of Military ordinariate in Bosnia and Herzegovina and msgr. dr. Pero Sudar, auxiliary bishop of Vrhbosna archdiocese.

 

Vinko card. Puljić, archbishop metropolit of Vrhbosna archdiocese and chairman of BKBiH

Vinko card. Puljić, archbishop metropolit of Vrhbosna archdiocese, was born on September 8th   1945., in Priječani, a place near Banja Luka. Theology studies he finished in Đakovo, where he was ordained a priest of Banja Luka diocese on June 29th 1970.

Among other services, for 9 years he was a padre in Archbishops seminary Zmajević in Zadar and vice rector of Vrhbosna Catholic theology faculty in Sarajevo. He was named an archbishop of Vrhbosna on December 7th 1990., and saint pope John Paul II. named him cardinal on  October 30th 1994.
For his work and tireless devotion for equality of all people and for stopping the war in this region, he accepted numerous acknowledgements, as well as three honorary doctorates.
He speaks fluent italian and basic german language.

Msgr. dr. bishop Pero Sudar, auxiliary bishop of Vrhbosna archdiocese

He was born July 3rd 1951. in Bare, Konjic municipality, parish Solakova Kula in Vrhbosna archdiocese. He was ordained a priest on June 29th 1977. On Papal universities Gregoriana and Urbaniana he gained doctorate of canon law with theme The concept of physical person in legislation of the church and finished studies of atheism and Roman rota. For titular bishop of Selje and auxiliary bishop of Vrhbosna archdiocese he was named on May 10th 1993.
Among other services he was a dean and rector of Vrhbosna's catholic seminary, and today he is a  promoter of the project School for Europe and cares for restoration and building of necessary objects and organizes opening and activity of catholic school centres in the area of archdiocese. 
He is fluent in italian, german and french language.

Msgr. dr. Franjo Komarica, bishop of Banja Luka diocese

He was born on February 3rd 1946. in Novakovići, parish Petrićevac. He attended theology studies in Đakovo and Theology university in Innsbruck.

He was ordained a priest on June 29th 1972. On the university in Insbruck he gained a PhD in liturgy. Alongside with his main studies he studied music in Innsbruck's Conservatory and andragogy in the local Philosophy university.
Among other services, he was a profesor in Vrhbosna's high theology school in Sarajevo.
On October 28th saint pope John Paul II., named him an auxiliary bishop of Banja Luka diocese and titular bishop of diocese Satafis in Africa, and as a residential bishop he was named on May 15th 1989.
For his activities he received numerous international acknowledgments and prizes, and in 2004. he was nominated for the Nobel's peace prize.
He is fluent in german and basic in italian language.

Msgr. dr. Marko Semren, auxiliary bishop of Banja Luka diocese

He was born on April 9th 1954. in parish Bila near Livno in diocese of Banja Luka. He attended Franciscan classic gymnasium in Visoko, novitiate in Humac/Ljubuški,  and philosophical-theological studies on Franciscan theology in Sarajevo. As a member of Franciscan province Bosna srebrena he was ordained a priest on June 29th 1981.

He gained doctorate in 1986. in the field of Franciscan spirituality on Papal university Antonianum in Rome. Holy father Benedict XVI. named him auxiliary bishop of Banja Luka diocese in July 15th 2010., appointing him the titular diocese of Abaradir.
He is fluent in italian, and basic in german and spanish language.

Msgr. dr. Ratko Perić, bishop of Mostar-Duvno diocese and apostolic administrator of  Trebinje-Mrkan

He was born on February 2nd 1944. in Tuk, parish Rovišće near Bjelovar, Croatia. He studied theology on papal university Urbaniana, where he gained doctorate in 1971. He was ordained a priest on June 29th 1969.

Among other, he was a professor for many years, he lectured on Papal university Gregoriana and was rector of Papal Croatian institute of st. Jerome. He was named a Bishop coadjutor of Mostar-Duvno on May 29th 1992, and he became diocesan bishop of Mostar-Duvno and apostolic administrator of Trebinje-Mrkan on July 24th 1993.
He is fluent in italian, german and english language.

Msgr. dr. Tomo Vukšić, Bishop of military ordinariate

He was born on January 9th 1954. in Studenci in diocese Mostar-Duvno, and was ordained a priest on June 29th 1980. He got his masters degree in canon law on Papal university Urbaniana (1986.) and from ecumenical theology on Papal oriental institute (1984.) where he gained his doctorate (1991.). Among other, he is a professor on Catholic theology University in Sarajevo¸.

For first military ordinary in Bosnia and Herzegovina he was named by pope Benedict XVI. on February 1st 2011., when Military ordinariate in Bosnia and Herzegovina was established.
He is fluent in italian, german and french language. He is author of numerous and valuable publications in theology, canon law, history of the Church and modern questions.
